Last week, we hosted an incredible conversation:
Experts from UT Austin, UT Dallas, and school systems across the country joined us to dig into a critical question:
What we heard echoed across contexts:
โข Teachers are spending too much time modifying materialsโoften piecing together lessons from online platforms just to meet basic accessibility needs.
โข The quality and alignment of these resources can vary widely, leading to inconsistency across classrooms and grade levels.
โข This workload leaves less time for what matters most: building strong relationships with students and delivering instruction that sticks.
Our panelists also explored what progress could look like: They challenged the field to move beyond surface-level adaptations and invest in materials that support executive functioning, prioritize meaningful vocabulary development, and enable real-time personalization.
The goal is clear: stop patching, start progressing.
Weโre grateful to our panelists and attendees for their honesty, vision, and shared commitment to moving this conversation forward.
