Building a Literacy System That Works as One
Most literacy plans don't need another program. They need the pieces they already have to work as one system.
The core reading program, the intervention tiers, the supports for students with IEPs and for English learners, the reading that happens in science and social studies: each can be strong on its own and still not add up to something a teacher can follow from one day to the next.
That alignment is what curriculum infrastructure is for. NovoDia authors the pieces a district can't buy, to Georgia's standards and the district's own literacy plan, so they connect to what's already in place. The district's team directs and vets every program.
On Thursday, November 5, we join Georgia school leaders for Advancing Leadership for Literacy and Systems Alignment at South Georgia Technical College in Americus. We're grateful to Dr. Shonda Green, Superintendent of Stewart County Schools, for sharing Stewart County's experience with the room.
